How can your sharpen your baseball spikes?

Any good umpire who does a cleat inspection will notice any altering (sharpening) of the spike and immediately declare them illegal and make you remove them before you can enter the field. If caught during the game (through an injury to a player or just the other teams coach noticing something and asking for a check) and you will be ejected from the game and in any organized league or high school ball you will be suspended for at a minimum 1 more game. You likely will face a hearing which if they deem it neccesary you could be suspended for the remainder of the season.
